Tubby Esquire is a band from the Minneapolis/St. Paul area of Minnesota U.S.A.
Their music is a blend of Polka, Pop, Rock and Country inspired by the music of performers such as Flaco Jimenez, Hank Williams, Patsy Cline and Johnny Cash to Spike Jones, Roger Miller, Pantera and the Jolly Fishermen.
Tubby Esquire has been honored in 2000 & 2001 by winning the coveted Minnesota Music Awards for "Best Polka Band" and "Best Polka Recording" for their CD "The Return of the Last Castrato."
Tubby Esquire is:
Rob Browne: Drums and Vocals.
(In addition to being the finest natural drummer you'll ever hear, Rob is also the clandestine CEO of Widowmaker Inc. A non-profit company that makes mindbogglingly usefull items out of crap most people throw away. Ask nice and maybe he'll give you what you never knew you needed but can now see as indispensable!)
Harry Pulver Jr.: Accordion, Guitar and Vocals.
(With a chronically short attention span, Harry requires constant cortex stimulation. When not tickling Tubby's accordion, he's either working on music for TV commercials with the Echo Boys or drawing cartoons for multi-national corporations. You can check out his Web pages via the links at the bottom of this page.)
Kent Peterson: Bass, Vocals, Congas, Bongos, Glockenspiel and percussion.
(Kent is a musical Jack of all Trades who can play whatever you drop into his lap -- with aplomb! Kent is also a talented acoustical engineer who has designed everything from huge dance clubs to "less embarrassing" lavatories. Kent demands that only the most pristine sound emanates from Tubby Esquire's speakers.)
John Schech: Percussion, Glockenspeil, Bongos, Congas, Vocals, Bass.
(The Man in Black Slacks is Back with a Mack Sack. When he sets up his Rack, he takes no Flack, Jack. During Space Ghost, he cheers for Brak.)

|
Tubby Esquire has released 4 recordings in the 10 years they've been together.
In 1997, they released a short cassette demo called "Tubby Esquire's Cavalcade o' Value."
In June of 1999, they released a full length CD entitled "The Return of the Last Castrato" which (I repeat) won a prestigious Minnesota Music Award for Best Polka Recording.
In September of 2000, they released a CD single entitled "The Halloween Polka (Dead Guy, Sammy)" -- the perfect soundtract for swinging a flour sock!
In September of 2003, they released another CD single entitled "Dead Dogs Must Die"--their cover of a great song by John "Caveman's" infamous band, Cave Music!
